We are proud to announce the establishment of the Dr. Ellsworth Weaver Education Scholarship, honoring the legacy of a remarkable individual whose dedication to education and empowerment has left an indelible mark on our community. As our late branch president, Dr. Weaver's unwavering commitment to excellence and his passion for fostering learning inspire us to continue his work by providing opportunities for deserving students to pursue their educational aspirations. Through this scholarship, we aim to uphold Dr. Weaver's values of knowledge, perseverance, and service, ensuring that his impact resonates for generations to come.
The Fauquier County Branch of the NAACP will grant a $1,000 scholarship to one graduating senior from each of the county's three public high schools.
These scholarships are open to applicants planning to enroll in accredited trade, vocational, and technical schools, community colleges, or four-year colleges and universities.
To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must maintain a minimum 2.5 grade average. Scholarships are granted based on academic excellence, exemplary citizenship, leadership qualities, community service, and involvement in extracurricular activities.

Minority applicants experiencing financial or personal challenges, and individuals committed to enhancing their local communities are encouraged to apply.

We received numerous applicants who demonstrated both academic excellence and community service.
